Narrative
A modern-day story of making it big in the West Texas oil rig world. A farmer, at least one working in the oil industry, acts as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. Generally, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company he represents.
CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode 4424 (2022)
Basically, they control the land and secure leases to drill for oil and gas. Like foremen on a construction site, they build roads, workers’ quarters (men’s camp), install excavators, and drill a well themselves, especially in remote areas. They are also parts fixers, problem solvers and helpers.
Landman is another Taylor Sheridan hit
It has everything you want in a good series, lots of drama, action, twists, even a bit of comedy etc. It’s obviously beautifully written, like everything Sheridan does, but it also has an amazing cast. It stars the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, among others.
The same goes for Hamm
Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role, and he’s great here. I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t get an Emmy nomination for her performance here. In addition to being beautifully written and acted, it is also beautifully shot.
Sheridan has so many great performances and Landman is one of the best
It looks like it’s going to last a long time, and I’m here for it.
