The men and women live in a giant underground silo, with various regulations they believe exist to protect them from the ruined, toxic world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are all about science fiction. Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book "Wool" – there are 82 chapters in the book. In several episodes, the fans on the floor spin in the wrong direction relative to the position of the blades. Spinning this way doesn’t push or pull air. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows You Need to Watch in 2023 (2023). It’s an interesting look at the history of the underground bunker, the people who survived underground for so long that a civilization emerged within them, with traditions, myths, beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies rooted in forgotten events. The social structure of the status quo is established. And when this status quo that maintains order is challenged, execution and punishment ensue. A power structure is formed that creates a stratified population, both figuratively and literally, from the top of the silo to the bottom. That’s the premise, and while it’s not entirely original (think Express of Tomorrow, City of Darkness, etc.), there’s enough new here to feel like a well-executed TV series. Good performance from Oyelowo, familiar faces in Rashida Jones and Will Patton. (But as you can see from the show’s poster, they’re guest stars who make room for the regular cast, starring Rebecca Ferguson.) The show looks pretty decent, with good production values. There are intricate sets and good CGI to create a believable atmosphere. While the unsuspecting mind initially notices some obvious conspiracies, mysteries are revealed that keep me watching.
