Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Katie is broke and facing eviction, so she eagerly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even murdered on camera – this is surely just a carefully staged work of fiction. But when this first job leads to even more lucrative work and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures haunt her apartment, terrifying nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness afflicts her cat. It’s only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer really is, and how much she’s willing to pay to get out of her contract.
